Iran invites Turkey into space program

Iran has invited Turkey to cooperate in work on the Islamic Republic's space program, which aims to put a man in space by 2017.

The offer was made at a summit of business leaders and government officials earlier this week as part of a raft of business deals.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said last month Iran planned to bring forward its deadline for sending an astronaut into space from a previous date of 2019, Reuters reported.
