32 Turkish NGOs of Democratic Platform organization demanded from Governor of Batman province Ahmet Turhan that he apologize for his disrespectful statements about Armenians and Kurds.

During a press conference, head of an office of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy party Salih Erol read out an ultimatum to the province Governor, who made "fascist and racist statements concerning Armenians and Kurds." The ultimatum authors urged the Governor to resign.

According to Hurriyet paper, Ahmet Turhan stated in a school that "the Kurds, who require teaching in native language in schools, have no conscience and serve the interests of Armenians. While Armenians can do nothing and are suited only for servant's role." According to Erol, similar behavior of the Governor should get a relevant response.
