Daniel Decker: I will struggle for Armenian Genocide recognition despite Turkish threats

Daniel Decker’s “Armenian by Choice” CD will be presented in Naregatsi center of arts on October 5, 2010.

Daniel Decker, a Puerto Rican-American composer, singer and recording artist known for his unique blending of musical influences from around the globe and infusing them into his own works, will also give a concert with Armenian stars – Shushan Petrosyan, Leyla Saribekyan, Anna Khachatryan and others – on October 9.

The CD release and the concert are part of Friendship Bridge project coordinated by Armen Adonts.

The singer’s first acquaintance with Armenia took place when he met musician Ara Gevorgian and “fell in love with the Armenian people”, as he says.

Being a supporter of the Armenian Genocide recognition, Decker said he received numerous threats from Turks but is not going to quit struggling for recognition of this crime against humanity.

“I will continue to struggle for Armenian Genocide recognition despite Turkish threats,” he told a news conference in Yerevan.
