Over the last 20years, Russia’s policy on CIS states has been rather ambiguous, according to Russia Today’s TV commentator Alexander Gurnov.

“Russia feels responsible for the region; however, to bear a responsibility, the country has to regain its influence. This is why, I believe the extension of Russian military base deployment in Armenia to be a reasonable step, benefiting both sides,” Russian TV commentator told PanARMENIAN.Net.
