PACE President hopes for resumption of activity of ad hoc committee on Nagorno Karabakh

President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the issue of the PACE ad hoc committee on Nagorno Karabakh will be discussed during the current session.

“I am going to discuss the committee’s activity with Azerbaijani and Armenian delegations,” Trend agency quoted him as saying in Strasburg.

In 2005, PACE adopted resolution 1416, envisaging establishment of an ad hoc committee on Nagorno Karabakh. However, after the death of first chairman Lord Russell-Johnston, the ad hoc committee’s activity has been suspended. The issue of its activity resumption is on the Bureau agenda.
