Tigran Davtyan: Armenia will not face problems with state debt servicing

Armenian Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan said that the state debt/GDP ratio will make 42-44% by the end of 2010 in Armenia that does not exceed international norms of acceptable level.

“We have not exceeded the acceptable level,” Davtyan told journalists on October 6.

He noted that the International Monetary Fund has reviewed the terms of aid provided to Armenia, extending maturity dates and decreasing interest rates. “Negotiations on loans refinancing are held also with other organizations,” he said.

Moreover, according to Davtyan, the state debt servicing is reflected in the mid-term expenditure program of the Armenian government and does not cause any concerns. However, the Minister added that Armenia should treat more carefully the matter of additional funds attraction.
