Russian gas prices for Armenia are formed based on market situation

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that a market pricing mechanism is applied for Russian gas supplied to Armenia, what is proved by the fact that gas prices have persistently increased over recent years.

“We follow this trend so that it is in compliance with the world ones. We basically discuss the methods of price distribution with our Russian colleagues,” Sargsyan said in an interview to Profile Ukrainian magazine.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister, prices predictability should be secured, as gas prices have an impact on many branches of industry. Entrepreneurs and population should be ready for changes in gas prices.

Besides, Sargsyan said that ArmRosgazprom CJSC is among largest Russian investment projects in Armenia. Gazprom owns 80% shares of the company.

“94% of Armenia’s populated areas are gasified – it is a very high index,” said Sargsyan.
