The Armenian football team defeated Slovakia 3:1 in an UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier in Yerevan. After the victory, Armenia is the 4th in Group B with 4 points.

In a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Armenian footballers thanked fans for their support.

“It is not just a victory, we showed a nice football. I think we have chances to improve our place in the group,” said Yura Movsisyan.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who scored Armenia’s third goal said that 2:1 score was very dangerous, as any mistake could become a decisive one. “However, the goal scored by me made us play more confidently and freely. We will rival Andorra in the next match. It will not be an easy one, but we will try to play the same way, as in this match,” he said.

Armenia’s Chief Coach Vardan Minasyan is also happy with performance of Marcos Pizzelli.

Marcos Pizzelli said for his part that Armenia managed to score two goals also in the match with Macedonia, but the match ended in a draw. “This time the scored goals gave a result – we managed to win,” he said.
