Armenian school students to be taught energy saving

Yerevan hosts a conference dedicated to SPARE, School Project for Application for Recourses and Energy.

As project coordinator in Armenia, Tapan NGO head Hrant Sargsyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, 150 teachers and 1460 students from 140 schools of 11 regions of Armenia have taken part in the program over the past 10 years.

SPARE started its activities in Armenia in 2001, with the local Tapan NGO as responsible for the project. Almost all regions are covered by the project. In addition to educational activities, Tapan is also implementing practical energy projects on solar heating and windows restoration. Tapan is working with several partners, for example gives cooperation with Youth and Community Action Program (implemented by Academy for Educational Development, supported by USAID) a possibility for SPARE to be spread through the many local centers of this project.
