Ropeway leading to Tatev monastery may enter Guinness World Records

Six children from neighboring communities, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II and Executive Director of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia Bekor Papazyan will be the first people to take the longest ropeway leading to Tatev monastery.

“It is a great honor for me and I am looking forward to this event. I refrained from taking the ropeway even during its testing to do it for the first time the day of its official opening,” Bekor Papazyan told journalists on October 12.

He added that the monastery territory will be enclosed on October 15-17 and only officials, journalists and foreign guests will be present at the official opening ceremony to be broadcasted live on the public television on October 16.

Bekor Papazyan added that negotiations are conducted on registration of the longest ropeway in Guinness World Records.
