The Coordinating Council for Protection of Javakheti Armenians’ Rights urged the Armenian lobby of the U.S. to pay attention to the situation in Javakhk.
“Ignoring statements, appeals of Armenian and international organizations, the Georgian authorities toughen the discriminative policy towards Armenians of Javakhk. Armenian organizations should present facts of violation of rights of Georgia’s Armenians to the U.S. administration and take relevant measures,” reads a statement of the Council received by PanARMENIAN.Net.
The Council urges the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) and Armenian Assembly of America to include problems of Javakheti Armenians on their agenda, endorsing the U.S. efforts aimed at establishing democracy and protecting national minorities’ rights in Georgia.
