ICRC representatives meet with Armenian captives in Azerbaijan

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRD) met with Armenian captives kept in Azerbaijan.

Spokeswoman for the ICRC Office in Baku Ilaha Huseynova said that on October 13 ICRC representatives visited six Armenian POWs and an Armenian family in Azerbaijan.

The ICRC representatives inquired about confinement conditions and physical state of the captives, APA reported.

Currently, six Armenian POWs and five civilians are kept in Azerbaijan. Armenia’s citizens Yeghishe, Ruzanna, Alfred, Gayane and Petros Gevorgyans are members of one family, they were captured in January 2010.

Three captives - Hrant Markosyan, Alik Tevosyan and Arthur Sargsyan - were captured in February 2009, Ohan Harutyuan and Gevor Tovmasyan – in May 2009, while Karen Harutyunyan – in July 2009.
