Ugly Duckling is an attempt at promoting tolerance in the society, world famous animator and director Garri Bardin stated.

As he told October 14 news conference in Yerevan, “Ugly Duckling is a story about the life of a little outcast among ordinary people.”

“I had a happy childhood, so it’s a hard to characterize the Ugly Duckling as an autobiographical film. However, everyone associates himself with the film character, going back to his childhood grievances.”

Dwelling on his further plans, the director spoke of his work on a short film Rondo, however, omitting the details.
