Children of Armenian migrants in Istanbul have no place to study

The basement of and Armenian church in Istanbul, which was once a home to Hrant Dink, is currently hosting a school for 70 children of Armenian migrants.

As the schoolteacher Heriqnaz Ayvazyan told Hurriyet, “Turkish Prime Minister, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Education assured Archbishop Aram Ateshian to of their intention to settle the issue. Children are still waiting for them to fulfil their promise.”

As Ms. Ayvazyan informed, textbooks to schoolchildren are sent from Armenia, with their parents providing teachers’ salaries.
