Russia, as well as other post-Soviet states, has not yet formed interrelations between foreign and domestic policy, according to the head of Sociology Department at Yerevan State University, Doctor of Political Sciences Artur Atanesyan.

“Russia’s foreign policy has been undergoing radical alterations based on change of powers or internal political structures,” the expert said at international scientific conference on Armenia-Russia relations in the light of regional security and stability.

“It’s hard to compare Russia’s political interests with those of the U.S., Russia being difficult to “encode”. Russia’s foreign policy is implemented at stimulus –reaction level, which means a certain stimulus gives rise to a reaction,” the expert concluded.
