Talk about the rise in prices is widespread among the people, Armenian President said.
He refrained from linking the high prices in Armenia with the rise in world prices or weather conditions, as “breakthrough is always unpleasant.”
President Sargsyan noted that the 4,8% rise in prices over the past 9 months was parallel to 8% rise in average salary.
“I can’t promise drastic increase in pension and benefits next year but the 2011 budget envisages increasing salary of the military by 10%. The same is expected for cultural workers, teachers and pensioners,” he said. “We know how serious the problem is and take measures for its resolution.”
