Yervand Bozoyan: international community has forgotten about Armenia-Turkey rapprochement

Expectations for Armenia-Turkey rapprochement shouldn’t be set up, according to expert Yervand Bozoyan.

“The issue has been frozen,” he told a news conference in Yerevan. “As soon as Turkey realizes Armenia is strong enough even if Karabakh conflict remains unsettled, and should the external pressure for Armenian Genocide recognition continue, the border will be opened without further ado.”

“Turkey is using attempts at rapprochement with Armenia to justify its interference in Karabakh conflict, attempting to influence Russia, U.S. and EU in this context,” the expert noted.

“Actually, the international community has forgotten about Armenia-Turkey rapprochement, shifting attention to Karabakh conflict settlement,” Bozoyan concluded.
