Nerses Yeritsyan hopes for conclusion of Armenia-Iran free trade agreement in 2011

Conclusion of free trade agreement, earlier offered by Iran is impossible as the country is unable to abolish customs taxes for Armenian goods’ transit, Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan said.

As the Minister stated at governmental sitting, Armenian and Iranian sides resolved to form a new approach to the issue, attempting to find a new format for conclusion of free trade agreement. “We hope the document will be signed next year,” Yeritsyan stated.

Also, the parties agreed on the visit of the head of Iranian customs service to Armenia in order to discuss issues related to the transit of Armenian goods.
