Alexey Venediktov against criminal prosecution for Holocaust denial

Nation states emerged as such in the 19th century, editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow radio station Alexey Venediktov said that.

“It had not been so, but it does not mean that it is good. There is a trend. Moreover, I am opposed to adoption of decision by a country’s parliament, president and prime minister that one should not speak about the Holocaust or one can speak about the Holocaust, it should be forbidden to speak about the Armenian Genocide or label it as genocide. It is not a matter of parliaments, governments,” Venediktov told Pozner program of Channel One.

He added that he is against criminal prosecution for the Holocaust denial.
