Draft resolution on Karabakh conflict withdrawn from NATO PA agenda

The draft resolution on Karabakh conflict settlement was withdrawn from NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) agenda.

As the head of Armenian delegation to NATO PA, MP Karen Avagyan stated, after the draft resolution was included on NATO RA session agenda, Armenian side advanced relevant suggestions which clarified the issue.

As the head of Armenian delegation noted, official Yerevan has repeatedly pointed out the unacceptability for NATO PA to discuss the issue, the latter being within OSCE MG scope of responsibilities.

Specifically, in June 2010, Armenian parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan addressed a letter to NATO PA President John Tanner, urging the Assembly to refrain from discussing the issue.
