Religious challenges discussed in Yerevan

A 2-day scientific conference titled “Armenia and religious challenges of the 21st century” kicked off in Yerevan State University on November 8 through assistance of the YSU Theology Faculty and the inter-confessional benevolent fund of the World Council of Churches.

Addressing the participants, dean of the YSU theology faculty, bishop Anushavan Zhamkochyan stressed the importance of the event.

“The Armenian Apostolic Church faces a number of challenges, from sectarianism down to problems in Georgia and Nakhijevan. Al these issued will be discussed during the current event,” he said.
