Armenian official unable to name reasons behind rise in prices for cheese

Chairman of the RA Parliamentary Standing Committee for Financial, Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan said that the GDP growth will be from 2.4 to 3.6% by the end of 2010 in Armenia.

It is too important that the export growth rates twice exceed the import growth rates, Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

“Besides, the growth rates of industry are rather high. However, high level of inflation is a very serious challenge faced by the Armenian authorities. Thus, serious measures are taken to tackle it,” he said.

Commenting on the opinion that cheese market is monopolized, Minasyan said that it is not true. However, he was unable to name the reason behind the dramatic rise in prices for cheese.
