Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan said that 15.1% growth was recorded in incoming tourism in Armenia in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.

It is a considerable progress, taking into consideration the fact that the financial crisis has affected the global tourism sector, Petrosyan told a press conference.

He noted that over 487,000 tourists visited Armenia over the first nine months of 2010 against 422,000 tourists during the same period in 2009.
