Ukrainian Foreign Minister supports OSCE MG efforts aimed at Karabakh conflict settlement

On November 17, 2010a telephone conversation took place between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of UkraineKostyantynGryshchenkoand his Armenian counterpart EdwardNalbandian.

The Ministers exchanged views on the current issues of bilateral relations, the upcoming OSCE Summit in Astana and its importance for reinvigorating the activities of the Organization, related to the settlement of protracted conflicts. MinisterNalbandianinformed his colleague on the current status of Karabakh conflict negotiation process.

MinisterGryshchenkoexpressed hope that a lasting and mutually acceptable solution will bring prosperity and stability to the region. In that regard MinisterGryshchenkoalso expressed his full support to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards peaceful settlement of the conflict based upon the norms and principles of international law, particularly, upon the principles of non-use of force or threat of force, territorial integrity, and the equal rights and self-determination of peoples as well as other principles of the Helsinki Final Actandapproaches contained in the Athens Ministerial Statement, official website of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reported .
