On December 3, newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to Armenia Günther Baechler handed over his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Mr. Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador and noted that “our country is interested in the development of relations with Switzerland, while an active dialogue established between the two countries recently can contribute to it.”

The Armenian President expressed gratitude to the Swiss government for the provided assistance and recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

Besides, the two men discussed regional problems. Baechler noted that Switzerland will continue contributing to establishment of peace in the region.
