Lilit Mkrtchyan to play with white pieces, Elina Danielyan with black ones in the first match of Women's World Chess Championship

The opening ceremony of the Women's World Chess Championship in Antakya, Turkey, was followed by a drawing where the chess player winning the drawing of lots was given a chance to choose the colour.

As a result, Lilit Mkrtchyan will play with white pieces against Xiaowen Zhang, Elina Danielyan will play black pieces in a game against Shadrina Tatiana, armchess.am reported.

Women's World Chess Championship due December 4 through 24 in Antakya will be played on a knock-out system, envisaging two games per round, with the winners progressing to the next round.
