Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian shares 4th-6th places at Brazil Chess Championship

GM Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian scored 6.5 points out of 11 possible and shared the 4th-6th places at Brazil Chess Championship held in Americana.

GM Giovanni Vescovi won the championship, scoring 8.5 points.

FIDE master Poghos Nahapetyan scored 5.5 points out of 8 possible and shares the third place with several other participants of the Russian Students' Chess Championship held in Moscow. Nahapetian is only half a point behind the leaders.

Karina Hambartsumova scored 5 points. She has currently got the best result among the female chess players and has chances to win the championship, armchess.am reported.
