Serzh Sargsyan: OSCE summit in Astana revealed acuteness of problems the organization faces

The decision on consolidated support is an important step to improve coordination of actions on the urgent foreign policy issues of the OSCE member countries, Armenian President stated.

“The recent OSCE summit in Astana revealed the acuteness of problems the organization faces,” Serzh Sargsyan said when addressing a meeting of leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow.

“The statement adopted in Astana says that peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is the only possible way towards stability, lasting peace and understanding between nations,” he said.

“The President of Russia, Prime Minister of France and U.S. Secretary of State have reiterated impossibility of resoling the conflict by the use of force, echoing Armenia’s position. However, if Azerbaijan unleashes a new war, Armenia will have to recognize the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and ensure security of its population by all possible means,” President Sargsyan stated.
