Two Armenian teenagers were injured as a result of disorders in Moscow that followed the killing of FC Spartak fan Yegor Sviridov.

“Going out of a café where they celebrated a classmate’s birthday, the teens were assaulted by a crowd of radical extremists. Their friends – two Russian, one Georgian and one Azerbaijani boys – were also heavily injured. Police officers hardly managed to save the boys from the raging crowd,” said Levon Mukanyan, vice president of the Union of Armenians of Russia.

“The teens are currently at home with numerous haematomas and bruises,” he said.

Currently, the UAR holds consultations with the city authorities and public organizations to prevent ethnic clashes.

The Union calls on all compatriots to ignore provocative acts and refrain from participating in unauthorized spontaneous rallies.
