Lithuanian Baltijos informacinės sistemos company will deal with upgrade of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) next year, the project costing 3.45 million litas, delfi.lt reported.

“The Armenian NPP constructed in 1976 lacks a standby emergency shutdown station and post-emergency monitoring system. Our purpose is to introduce these systems so that the NPP meets all modern safety requirements,“ company CEO Kastitis Butkus said.

According to him, the project on upgrade of the NPP will bring not only new experience for the company, but will also secure successful development in the CIS countries in future.

Baltijos informacinės sistemos is the only company in Lithuania, which deals with monitoring and management systems of nuclear energy. It has upgraded numerous nuclear power plants in Russia.
