Meat production reduced in Armenia

In January-October 2010, 37.3thous. tons of meat were produced in Armenia that is 11.4% less compared to the same period in 2009.

3000 tons of meat products were produced during the reporting period, including sausage goods (-8%), the RA National Statistical Service reported.

Besides, 386.6 tons of semi-prepared foods were produced in Armenia in January-October 2010 that is 24% more compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, inflation rate in the commodity group of meat products in November 2010 made 16.2% and 0.3% compared to November 2009 and October 2010 respectively. Prices for beef and mutton increased by 0.7% and 1% respectively, while those for pork dropped by 1.9% in November 2010.

Prices for pork and beef make AMD 2300-2900; mutton costs AMD 3500 in Yerevan shops.
