Armen Movsisyan: mining sector activities in Armenia are gaining impetus

Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan spoke of achievements in the country’s mining sector at December 21 news conference in Yerevan.

“18,7 million tons of ore were produced in 2010, increasing by 16% against last year’s results. Production of concentrates showed 36,4% growth, with copper and molybdenum concentrates manufacturing increasing by 32,6% and 0,2% to gross 116 464 and 8 893 tons respectively.”

“AMD 140 billion worth of products was manufactured in 2010, increasing by 59% compared with 2009 results. Thus, mining sector activities in Armenia are gaining impetus, showing signs of recovery after world crisis,” the Minister concluded.
