Viktor Ivanov: drug transit though Azerbaijan destabilizes situation in South Caucasus republics

Drug transit though the territories of Iran, Azerbaijan and other Caspian states destabilizes the situation in South Caucasus republics, further triggering terrorist activities, according to the head of the Federal Drug Control Service (FDCS) Viktor Ivanov.

As he stated, increase in crime rate and activation of terrorism are linked to inflow of Afghan heroin and hashish to Caucus through Caspian countries.

The head of FDCS urged for registration of foreign citizens crossing the border of Russia to prevent the inflow of drugs, Interfax reported.
