Supporting the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, the U.S. can push the twp countries to restart talks, according to research fellow at the Institute for International and European Policy (IIEP).
Thijs Rommens said that as the most influential actor in the process, the U.S. can use a large number of tools to make Yerevan and Ankara normalize relations.
“It can facilitate the reconciliation process but can’t compel Armenian and Turkish leaders to act to the detriment of national interests,” he said, 1news.az reported.
