Editor-in-chief of Beirut-based Aztag daily newspaper Shahan Kandaharian said that Hezbollah ministers and its allies stated they are leaving the Lebanese government with respect to Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s refusal to accept their demands concerning a UN probe into the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri.

Kandaharian told PanARMENIAN.Net that Lebanon is in a political deadlock.

On January 11, Lebanese politicians stated that Syria and Saudi Arabia have not managed to lessen the political tension in Lebanon with respect to a UN probe into the assassination of Rafiq al-Hariri. Disagreements concerning the probe have paralyzed the activity of the Lebanese unity government and revived concerns over continuation of the religious-ethnic conflict in the country.

Hezbollah denies its complicity in the 2005 act of terrorism, resulting in death of Rafiq al-Hariri and another 22 people.
