Yerevan may host Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011

Chairman of the Council of the Armenian Public Television and Radio Company (APTRC) Alexan Harutyunyan said that Yerevan may host Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011.

The final decision on it will be adopted soon, Harutyunyan told a press conference.

According to him, the sum, which will be required for the contest organization is not determined. However, if the event is organized in Armenia, the European Broadcasting Union will cover a significant part of the expenses.

The terms for acceptance of songs for the national contest of Eurovision 2011, at which Armenia will be represented by Emmy, will be prolonged, as many famous composers have not submitted their works for the contest yet, said Harutyunyan.

On November 20, Armenian participant of Junior Eurovision 2010, Vladimir Arzumanyan won the contest, gaining 120 points for his song – Mama.
