Vazgen Safaryan: Georgian wine producers’ accusations are political show

Commenting on Georgian wine producers’ accusations, according to which Armenian wine producers sell their production under Georgian brands, Chairman of the Armenian Union of Local Manufacturers, head of the Public Council’s Committee on Financial, Economic and Budgetary Affairs Vazgen Safaryan said that the Georgian producers organized a political show, as Russia has closed its market for them.

“Armenian wines are well known worldwide and we do not need to export wines under Georgian brands. The climate in Armenia is more favorable for grape growing than in Georgia,” said Safaryan.

The expert believes that the interest towards Armenian wines is growing abroad, especially, in Russia.
