Slovak businessmen interested in investing in Armenia

Chairman of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Eastern Markets Ivan Moskalenko said that Slovak businessmen are interested in making investments in Armenia.

Slovak businessmen are already familiar with the Armenian legislation and need support of the country’s government, Moskalenko told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter in Bratislava.

Specifically, they are interested in such fields as culture, education and healthcare, while Moskalenko sees great opportunities in provision of services for cultural heritage digitization.

“The sooner we receive statistical data concerning the number of Armenian libraries and books, the sooner we will be able to preserve your cultural heritage,” said Moskalenko.

On March 18, 2010, Yerevan hosted an Armenian-Slovak business forum organized by the Armenian Development Agency. Representatives of around 12 Slovak companies from various fields arrived in Armenia to familiarize themselves with the investment environment.

Agreements on air communication, avoidance of double taxation and investments protection, as well as a memorandum on trade and economic cooperation were signed.
