Yerevan hosts Charity Burns Supper

On January 22, Yerevan hosted Charity Burns Supper dedicated to Scottish poet Robert Burns.

The event was organized by the Armenian-British Business Chamber and British Embassy in Armenia, the British embassy reported.

Armenia-Marriott Hotel hosted the event for the 13th time. Charity Burns Supper envisages also funds collection for charitable purposes.

Modern equipment at the amount of $74,000 was purchased for Armenia's maternity hospitals due to the funds collected last year (jointly with Project Nova organization).

Burns Supper is a Scottish national holiday, which is celebrated worldwide late in January. According to the tradition, Haggis, a Scottish national dish, is cooked in Scotland and handed over to the British Ambassador 2 days prior to the charity.

Armenian Bambir rock band and Scottish bagpiper performed a joint concert during the event.
