Unlike Egypt, there are no preconditions for a social riot in Armenia, RPA parliamentary group secretary said.

According to Eduard Sharmazanov the government aims to improve living conditions of the population through carrying out reforms.

“Rebellions burst out if the leadership lacks political will to implement reforms. Armenian authorities don’t pursue ostrich policy,” he told journalists on January 31.

As to opposition calls for pre-term elections, Sharmazanov said there are no prerequisites for it.

Asked to comment on the ban on street trade, he noted, “The issue has been discussed since 2006. We have numerously stated that normal conditions will be created for traders.”
