Android announced N1 smartphone platform

Google's Android overtook long-time market leader, Nokia's Symbian, as the most popular smartphone platform in the fourth quarter of 2010, research firm Canalys said.

All phone makers sold a total of $32.9 million Android phones in the last quarter of 2010, compared with Symbian's total sales of $31 million (19 million pounds) in the quarter, Reuters reported.
