Ruben Safrastyan: Ankara protest not dangerous for Turkish authorities

The protest action in Ankara can be linked to the wave of opposition rallies across Middle East but it presents no danger for the Turkish authorities, an Armenian expert said.

“This action can’t turn into a mass protest. Turkey pursues pro-Islamic policy and the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party enjoys the highest rating,” director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the RA NAS, prof. Ruben Safrastyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“Besides, Turkey registers significant economic growth. That’s why these protests can’t transform into a serious movement,” he added.
