Yerevan has never addressed Brussels with a request on deportation of its citizens.

Armenian authorities cannot ask their counterparts in Belgium or any other country for assistance in the issue, diplomatic sources told PanARMENIAN.Net, commenting on the alleged deportation of Armenians to their homeland at Yerevan’s request. The information was circulated by 1news.az Azeri website.

“Every government is free to decide on the necessity of deportation. In such cases, no requests are accepted,” the source noted.

As 1news.az Azeri website reported earlier, Armenian authorities requested Belgian government to deport Armenian citizens to their homelands in view of major population outflow. To protest against deportations, Belgium’s Armenians will organize a rally in front of Armenian embassy in Brussels, 1news.az said, citing Rus.nl.

No such information, however, was found on Rus.nl.
