29.2% growth registered in investments of Armenian banks in 2010

The total amount of credit investments of Armenia’s banks totaled AMD 949.8bln as of the end of 2010, increasing by 29.2% (AMD 214.6bln) compared to 2009.

AMD 905.5bln was provided to the country’s residents; AMD 44.3bln was extended to non-residents, according to the monthly bulletin of the Central Bank of Armenia.

AMD loans totaled 42.5%, while foreign currency loans amounted to 57.5%.

Major part of the provided loans to residents was in the field of industry - AMD 203.8bln, followed by trade – AMD 184.8bln, consumer loans - AMD 163.7bln, mortgage loans - AMD 88.1bln and construction loans - AMD 74.8bln. Besides, the amount of agricultural loans totaled AMD 52.4bln as of the end of December 2010, while lending of the service field amounted to AMD 40.5bln and transport and communication field - AMD 25.7bln.
