Google launches website for soon-to-be-wed couples

Internet search giant Google Inc launched a new site this week which offers its free array of tools and products for couples who are preparing for their wedding.

The new release, just in time for Valentine’s Day, allows Google users to create a wedding website, edit photos, and plan their wedding using templates in Google Sites, Google Docs and Picnik. Google Docs offers wedding planning tools including a guest list, seating chart, reception menu, budget planner and more. The company announced the release on its official Google blog on Friday.

Google joined forces with wedding planner Michelle Rago for the templates. Rago will also provide tips for soon-to-be-wed couples. To get the word out, Google is hosting a wedding sweepstakes offering a $25,000 prize and the chance to have Rago help plan the wedding.

The new release is another move by Google to get familiar with consumers’ everyday lifestyles. The search titan launched Google Health in 2008, which is designed to let users organize, monitor, track and use health information on the site, Red Orbit reported.
