Iran is ‘Exhibit A’ for hijacked revolution, Clinton says

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that the wave of change sweeping through the Middle East is something that the United States has advocated for, in an interview with US government Arabic-language satellite television station Al-Hurra.

Asked what her message to the people of Algeria, Yemen and Bahrain, where popular demonstrations were ongoing, Clinton emphasized nonviolence as the preferred method. She said it makes reform movements "absolutely unimpeachable."

While the U.S. Secretary of State said most Arab governments still have an opportunity to implement reforms and democratize, she called it "very ironic that Iran is trying to give lessons in democracy to anybody."

"Talk about a revolution that was hijacked. Iran is Exhibit A," she added, The Jerusalem Post reported.
