Turkish publisher gets medal for contribution to Armenian Genocide recognition

The 1915 massacres are fully consistent with the term Genocide, according to Turkish human rights activist and publisher.

As Ragip Zarakolu told a news conference in Yerevan, he never questioned the truth behind the Armenian Genocide.

In Yerevan, Mr. Zarakolu was awarded a medal instituted in memory of the first Armenian publisher Hakob Meghapart.

The medal was granted him for contribution to acknowledgement of Armenian Genocide, which, as Mr. Zarakolu stated, will further stimulate his struggle against Genocide denial.

“The situation with human rights in Turkey is closely linked with Genocide issue,” Mr. Zarakolu noted.
