Armenia displeased with volume of trade turnover with Georgia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Georgian Prime Minister Niko Gilauri in Yerevan.

Mr. Sargsyan noted that bilateral visits are important and provide with the opportunity to develop cooperation in various fields. According to him, the Armenian-Georgian trade and economic relations develop, but the current volume of trade turnover cannot be considered sufficient, taking into consideration the existing opportunities.

Sargsyan noted that it is necessary to intensify efforts in this direction.

The parties also discussed implementation of cultural and educational programs, as well as cooperation development in this sphere.

The Georgian Prime Minister briefed Sargsyan on the results of his visit to Armenia.

Besides, Gilauri confirmed Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s invitation addressed to the Armenian President to pay a visit to Georgia, the RA presidential press service reported.
