Armenia, Iran develop cooperation despite Azerbaijan’s “resentment”

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with the special envoy of Iranian President Mohammad Reza Shaibani.

The two men focused on expansion of bilateral cooperation, implementation of agreements signed as well as Armenia-Iran intergovernmental committee activity.

Regional and international issues were further discussed, presidential press service reported.

Recently, official Baku has been accusing Iran of interfering with Azerbaijan’s internal affairs and strengthening ties with Armenia. Azerbaijani politicians characterize construction of Iran-Armenia pipeline and oil-processing factory as “interference in Azerbaijan’s internal affairs”. In several countries worldwide, anti-Iranian rallies were organized.
