Young people in Armenia are poorly informed of EU activity.
According to a social survey conducted by AEGEE-Yerevan among Armenian students, 80% of the respondents said they have no idea about the structure and activity of the European Union.
“Although over 70% of the young people believe Armenia to be a European country, they confessed to be unaware of how the EU operates,” AEGEE-Yerevan representative Armenak Minasyan told journalists.
To raise public awareness of the EU, AEGEE-Yerevan declared February 19 as the Day of Europe Awareness and organized a workshop to tell about the history and development of the European Parliament, Europeans Commission and EU Council.
Presentation of “Hello, Europe” book is also expected.
